All staff members are professionally trained in the Montessori principles of education and Cambridge International Examinations. Teaching methods are consistent throughout the school, making for a smooth transition as students move from one learning area to another.
Our active, self-directed educational process fosters the utmost in creative thinking. We empower the children via a unique balance of freedom and responsibility, both in and out of the classroom. These early academic success experiences create a joy of learning that lasts a lifetime.
Each child is thoroughly evaluated and personally guided through a self-paced curriculum. This accounts for individual differences and enables the children to progress at their own speed. Thus, the level of stress is minimized, and they are free to set up their own challenges (even choose the order of their work). It has been shown that learning actually occurs faster in the absence of fixed, imposed constraints.
Rich curricula are planned for all ages. Language development, strong vocabulary, and enhanced general knowledge are emphasized at all levels. Pre-primary classes also focus on practical life, sensorial, early reading and math, as well as cultural experiences. Students can have hands-on learning experience using practical skills labs for language, mathematics and culture studies.

I'm very happy with the school for giving my child the well rounded education I was hoping for. There is a positive growth in Neha's development as she approaches graduation from pre primary today. She is more articulate, disciplined, polite, confident and eager to learn and express her opinions after three years at excelsior american.
Her teacher Miss Swati, of Cultural ( KG) is exceptional. She has made a great effort and shown deep patience with her class and enabled them to grow in knowledge and social & personal growth. The other day Neha surprised me by reading a new story book almost by herself. Thank you Miss Swati.

There are two things we must give our children- roots and wings...roots to be grounded and to stay connected to our values, and wings to fly as high as they can.
So children need both equally to grow and to bloom. I am so glad that Excelsior American School is providing my children exactly what they need! The entire staff is so supportive in every way and my children feel so loved and appreciated by all their teachers and their friends. The Principal, the Vice-Principal and Head-mistress, all the teachers- the entire school team make such conscious efforts to bring out the best in each child, and that is highly admirable. I can truly say that Excelsior American School is highly supportive in shaping my children so beautifully to make them conscious citizens of tomorrow. A BIG thank-you to the entire school team for all the love and support that you are providing at each step to my children !

Pre Primary Program
At Excelsior American School, the learning environment is more than just a classroom. Each pre-primary space is a warm and secure community atmosphere designed to meet the child’s needs at every developmental step. Our Montessori-certified teachers are specialists in pre-primary children, skilled at guiding each child through carefully planned activities and lessons that build sensory-motor skills, socialization, self-esteem, independence, a sense of order, concentration, and cooperation.
The Pre-Primary curriculum of Excelsior, one of the best schools in Gurgaon has been planned after much research where emphasis is placed on language arts, math, practical life, the arts and sensorial perceptions. Our activities and lesson plans encourage small group activity as well as individual work and aid the child in the process of integration of body and mind through work. The whole curriculum assists holistic human development intellectually, physically, socially and the wide range of activities to refine sensory perceptions and to help the child adapt to a wider environment, the universe. The minute you walk into one of our classrooms you would see that the materials used to teach reading, writing, arithmetic are all unique even to a Montessori Classroom.
Through careful observation, our teachers take cues from the child to determine the right developmental moment to personalize instruction and introduce appropriate materials. This allows children to learn and master skills at the most opportune time – the moment they as individuals are most sensitive to acquiring a new skill or absorbing a new concept. Our method creates the optimal environment for mastery so children experience success often. Continual positive experiences naturally promote a love of learning, build independence, and establish a sense of empowerment.
